To promote trade and economic cooperation between Thailand and Bangladesh, facilitating business opportunities for both Thai and Bangladeshi companies involved with Thai products, Thailand Week 2025 is going to kick off in the capital this week.

Ahead of the event, a press conference and a high level panel discussion featuring business leaders and officials from both countries were held on Wednesday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel.
During the event, an MOU was signed between Thai Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to boost business collaboration.

Bilateral trade between Thailand and Bangladesh has grown steadily over the past decade. However, business delegates suggest there is still untapped potential, says a press release.

Speaking at the panel discussion, Tanvir Ahmed, Managing Director of Sheltech Group, Envoy Legacy, Envoy Textiles, Green Textile and Director of Bangladesh Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasised the growing importance of private sector collaboration.

“Bangladesh and Thailand must engage beyond policy-level discussions. It’s time for businesses from both sides to lead the partnership-with joint ventures, knowledge exchange, and shared infrastructure,” said Ahmed.

“Thai investors will find in Bangladesh a young, skilled workforce and growing consumer base. Likewise, Bangladeshi enterprises can benefit from Thailand’s advanced technology and logistics.”
The panel discussion was presided over by Shams Mahmud, President of Bangladesh Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event was organised by Bangladesh Thai chamber of commerce and industry, Thai- Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Thai Embassy, Dhaka and Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand.
