Bangladesh lost to Singapore by 1-2 goals after giving a heroic fight in their Group-C match of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers at the National Stadium in the capital on Tuesday.

Song Ui-Young of Singapore put his team ahead by a shot into the blank net using a short pass of his teammate Harris at the small D-box of Bangladesh in the 44th minute of the match.

After the lemon-break, Hami Saihan struck the ball and it was returned by Bangladesh goalie Mitul Marma and Ikhsan Fandi got the ball and he hit the ball into the Bangladesh goalbar in the 59th minute of the game.

Rakib Hossain of Bangladesh decreased the margin after defeating the Singapore custodian in the 67th minute of the clash.

After that Bangladesh created a good number of moves but all went into the vain. Bangladesh totally took the command against Singapore but failed to equalize the margin. Specially, Tarik Kazi’s header was fisted by Singapore goalie in the 1st minute of the injury time of the second half . Thus, Bangladesh’s hope to level the margin went into vapour.

Earlier, Bangladesh played a goalless draw with India in their first Group-C match at Shillong in India on March 25.
