Bangladesh lost to Afghanistan by 62 runs in their ICC World Cup warm-up match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane of Australia on Monday.
Batting first Afghanistan piled up a satisfactory total of 160 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then restricted Bangladesh to 98 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Bangladesh failed to build any notable partnership. Mosaddek Hossain hit a fine 29 from 33 deliveries including two fours and two sixer.
Opener Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 16 from 31 deliveries with one four. Nurul Hasan Sohan and Najmul Hossain Shanto added 13 and 12 runs respectively to the Bangladesh total.
Mustafizur Rahman remained unbeaten with 10 runs. His 17-ball knock saw two fours.
Fazahaq Farooqi grabbed three wickets in the space of nine runs, while Fareed Malik bagged two wickets at the cost of 42 runs.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq and Mohammad Nabi took one wicket each for five, six and 11 runs respectively.
Later, one-down Ibrahim Zadran notched up a sparkle 46. His 39-ball innings saw two sixes and three fours.
Fourth-down Mohammad Nabi remained unbeaten with 41 runs. His 17-ball windy innings had five sixes and a four.
Opener Rahmatullah Gurbaz made 27 from 19 balls.
Hazratullah Zazai and Darvish Rasooli added 15 and 12 runs respectively to the Afghanistan total.
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed captured three wickets at the cost of 30 runs, while Hasan Mahmud and Shakib Al Hasan bagged two wickets each for 24 and 46 runs respectively.
