The Bangladesh Football squad left the city on Wednesday for Nepal to play two FIFA International friendly matches against hosts Nepal National Football team. Bangladesh will face Nepal in the first FIFA International friendly match at Dasharath Rangasala in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal on September 6.
Bangladesh will meet Nepal in the second FIFA International friendly match at the same venue on September 9. Bangladesh will play FIFA International friendly matches against Nepal to mark the Group-C match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Qualifiers against Hong Kong Football team. Bangladesh will take on Hong Kong in their home match at the National Stadium in the capital on October 9.
Earlier, Bangladesh played a goalless draw with India in their first match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers in Shillong of India on March 25.
Bangladesh lost to Singapore in their second match of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at the National Stadium in Dhaka on June 10.
Meanwhile, Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Javier Cabrera announced on Wednesday the 23-member Bangladesh Football squad for the upcoming FIFA International friendly matches against Nepal. Expatriate of Italy Fahamedul Islam is now Vietnam to play in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers. Hamza Choudhury and Shamit Shome will not play in the FIFA International friendly matches. Shakil Ahad, Al-Amin, Morsalin, Mojibur Rahman and Zahid Hasan was not included in the squad for Nepal matches. Mohammad Ibrahim, Isa Faisal and Abdullah Omar have got chance in the 23-member Bangladesh Football squad.
Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuyan said, ” I feel unhappy as I could not play two AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers matches against India and Singapore. I played against Bhutan in a FIFA International friendly match and we won the match.
Our Head Coach will decide who will get chance to play and who will be dropped. We shall miss a couple of booters. Specially, Hamza Choudhury. I talked to him over telephone on Tuesday. He got a simple injury. He said the injury was not so serious. He also said to me he will play against Hong Kong.”
” Nepal are strong side. But it is possible to win against Nepal. I believe that we can win over Nepal,” he added.
