BD face Bhutan in SAFF U-20 Women’s Champ today

Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team will face Bhutan Under-20 Women’s Football team in their third match of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-20 Women’s Championship at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital today. Afeida Khandaker will lead Bangladesh women as the captain, while Sonam Tshomo will lead Bhutan women as the captain.
The match will kick-off at 3:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
A total of four teams are taking part in the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship 2025. This is the sixth edition of this football competition. Bangladesh emerged the champions for four times. The SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship 2025 is a meet, which is a round robin league basis football competition for women of South Asian Region. It is an age group basis football meet. The highest point-collector team will be the champions of the competition.
Bangladesh bagged maximum six points from two matches, while Bhutan earned three points from as many outings.
Defending champions Bangladesh made an auspicious start in the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship campaign after thrashing Sri Lanka 9-1 in their first match on July 11 at the same venue.
The red-and-green outfit retained their supremacy after edging past Nepal by 3-2 goals on July 13 at the same venue.
On the other hand, Bhutan started their SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship with an unhappy note after tasting a 1-6 goals defeat to Nepal in their first match on July 11 at the same venue.
Bhutan bounced back after blanking Sri Lanka by six goals to nil in their second match on July 13 at the same venue.
Bangladesh are now in a good shape as their forwards and other players scored in their last two matches. Specially, Sagorika scored a hat-trick with three goals in their first match and netted one in their second match.
