Executive Engineer Md. Rezaul Islam used to distribute Khulna WASA’s contracting work, production, tube well installation, irregularities and corruption to his close relatives through contracting companies. He was the director of three projects. Despite making three complaints in this regard, the owner of the company named Messrs. Mainul Haque Mithu did not get any solution.
As per Mainul Haque Mithu’s complaint, he first complained to the Managing Director of Khulna WASA in March 2019. On March 3, 2020, an order was issued to take measures to pay the bill. But no action has been taken till date. Where several crores of taka have been wasted by the city WASA. In the name of repairing submersible water pumps and motors, Md. Rezaul Islam has taken refuge in irregularities and corruption with the help of corrupt officials and employees.
Mainul Haque Mithu said that while he was the project director, his main objective was to embezzle the project money by distributing the contract work, production, installation of tube wells, and distributing it to close relatives through irregularities and corruption. The water pumps have already been shut down due to the extreme incompetence, inefficiency, and use of very low-quality materials in those three projects, making the projects unusable.
He said that Md. Rezaul Islam had accepted an advance of 5.5 lakh taka as commission from me for the work. He has committed corruption of several crores of taka in Khulna WASA in coordination with Sheikh Jewel, a former member of parliament from Khulna-2 constituency, a friend of fascism in the past. If the correct matter is investigated, it will come to light.
