BD defeat Singapore in AFC U-23 Qualifiers

Bangladesh National Under-23 Football team finished their Asian Football Federation (AFC) Under-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers with a happy note as the red-and-green outfit defeated Singapore National Under-23 Football team by four goals to one in their last Group-C match at Phu Tho Provincial Stadium in Vietnam on Tuesday.

Fahamedul Islam, Al Amin, Mohsin Ahmed and Morsalin scored one goal each, while Khairin Nadim of Singapore scored the consolation goal.

The pre-lemon session saw 0-0.

Fahamedul Islam put his team ahead by a spectacular 30-yarder using a pass of his teammate in the 70th minute of the play.

After two minutes, Al Amin doubled the margin after entered the D-box of Singapore by his solo effort and deceived the Singapore goalie by an angular shot.

Mohsin Ahmed made it 3-0 by an angular shot in the 80th minute of the match.

Morsalin found the net after dodging past a Singapore defender in the 82nd minute of the clash.
Khairin Nadim of Singapore returned one in the injury time of the second half.

Earlier, Bangladesh lost to Vietnam in their opening Group-C match by two goals to nil on September 3.

The red-and-green outfit suffered a 1-0 loss to Vietnam in their second Group-C match on September 6.

It may be mentioned that it was Bangladesh National Under-23 Football team’s 21st match in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers so far. It was Bangladesh’s second victory. Earlier, Bangladesh won only one match and made a draw. They tasted 18 defeats in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
