Bangladesh Under-18 (Boys’) Hockey team defeated Hong Kong Under-18 Hockey team by three goals to nil in their first Pool-A match of the Under-18 (Boys’) Asia Cup Hockey Tournament at Dazhou City in China on Thursday.
Bangladeshi youngsters failed to score in the first quarter. Bangladesh scored two goals in the second quarter. Din Islam of Bangladesh put his team ahead in the 20th minute by a field goal. Din Islam made it 2-0 using a penalty corner in the 26th minute.
Amit Hasan of Bangladesh sealed the fate of the match (3-0) capitalising a penalty corner in the third quarter. Din Islam was adjudged the Player of the Match.
A total of 11 teams are taking part in the Under-18 (Boys’) Asia Cup Hockey Tournament.
Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Pakistan, China and Sri Lanka are in Pool-A of Under-18 (Boys’) Asia Cup Hockey Tournament.
Bangladesh Under-18 (Girls’) Hockey team will take on Japan Under-18 (Girls’) Hockey team in their first match today. A total of eight teams are taking part in the Under-18 (Girls’) Asia Cup Hockey Tournament. Bangladesh, Japan, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong are in Pool-A of Under-18 (Girls’) Asia Cup Hockey Tournament.
It may be mentioned that the Bangladesh Under-18 (Boys’) Hockey team became champions in Under-18 (Boys’) Asia Cup Hockey Tournament in Dhaka in 2017.
