Amirul Islam’s five goals with a hat-trick powered Bangladesh Youth Hockey team to achieve a massive 13-0 win over Oman Youth Hockey team in a place-deciding match of the Youth World Cup (WC) Hockey held at Tamil Nadu in India on Thursday.

Apart from Amirul Islam, Rakibul Hasan also hit a hat- trick, while Mohammad Saju and Mohammad Abdullah netted two goals each and Obaidul Hasan Joy successfully struck one time on the board. Rakibul Hasan was adjudged the Player of the Match.

Usually Oman fought against Bangladesh in their international matches but yesterday’s match was a one-sided affair. The Thursday’s victory proved the quality of Head Coach of Bangladesh Youth Hockey team Siegfried Aikman, who is a Dutch by his nationality.

Amirul Islam opened the flood gate in the 11th minute of the play. He scored his second goal in the 15th minute using a penalty corner. Amirul fulfilled his hat-trick capitalising a penalty corner in the 15th minute of first quarter. Rakibul Hasan scored two consecutive goals (both were field goals) in the second quarter and made it 5-0.

Mohammad Abdullah scored the 6th goal in the 33rd minute of the game.After one minute, Amirul Islam scored his fourth goal.

Obaidul Hasan Joy increased the tally into 8-0 in the 40th minute of the clash.Rakibul Hasan raised the tally into 9-0 by a field goal in the 46th minute.

Mohammad Abdullah made it 10-0 by a field goal in the 46th minute of the game. Mohammad Saju increased the tally into 11-0 by a field goal in the 51st minute of clash.

After two minutes, Amirul Islam scored his fifth goal utilising a penalty corner.
Mohammad Saju sealed the fate of the match (13-0) just at the dying moment.
