Bangladesh ‘A’ Women’s Cricket team won the T20 series 3-0 after defeating Sri Lanka ‘A’ Women’s Cricket team by 10 runs in the third T20 cricket match at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Sunday. Bangladesh women clinched the T20 series against Lanka women with two T20 matches in their hands.
Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the first T20 on September 12.
The Tigresses thrashed Sri Lanka by 104 runs in the second T20 on September 13.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh notched up a fighting total of 97 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then restricted Sri Lanka to 87 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
Openers Dilara Akter and Sathi Rani contributed 28 runs in the opening stand. Dilara scored 13 runs using 10 deliveries.
Later, Sathi Rani and Ritu Moni resisted the bowling attack of Lanka bowlers.
Sathi Rani top-scored with 26 runs.
Ritu Moni remained undefeated with 25 runs.
Captain of Bangladesh ‘A’ Women’s Cricket team Nigar Sultana scored 12 runs.
Malsha Shehani of Sri Lanka captured four wickets, while Madhushani grabbed two wickets.
Nilakshana Sandamini and Kaushani Nuthyangana fought back against the tight, controlled and superb bowling attack of Bangladesh. Nilakshana made 22 runs, while Kaushani scored 21 runs.
Marufa Akter, Rabeya Khan and Nahida Akter bagged two wickets each.
Sultana Khatun and Fahima Khatun took one wicket apiece.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the fourth T20 match at Thurstan Ground on September 17.
The Tigresses will face Sri Lanka in the fifth T20 match at Colts Ground on September 19.
