Speakers at the event stated that although Bangladesh ranks 7th in the world and 3rd in Asia in potato production, the country is yet to fully utilise its true potential due to the lack of adequate modern storage systems, processing technologies, and export-friendly infrastructure, says a press release.

They emphasized that the upcoming Potato Festival 2025, scheduled to be held on 12-13 December 2025 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka, will play a crucial role in introducing Bangladesh’s potato industry to the global arena, showcasing modern technologies, and expanding both local and international investment and export opportunities.

Notably, this international exhibition will feature participation from hundreds of domestic and foreign organizations involved in potato production, storage, processing, value addition, export, cold-chain technology, agricultural machinery, food innovation, and culinary arts. Alongside the exhibition, international B2B meetings, technical seminars, and expert discussions will also be held.
At the conclusion of the press meeting, the organizers expressed their hope that Potato Festival 2025 will significantly contribute to strengthening Bangladesh’s position in the global potato market.
