Demanding a specific roadmap for the ongoing BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) exams, job aspirants have staged a sit-in protest in front of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Office at Agargaon, Dhaka.

To observe the programme, over a hundred of BCS candidates gathered at the main gate of the PSC around 10am on Sunday.

The protestors held banners and placards highlighting their demands. Under the slogan “Commitment for July, Reformation of BCS,” the participants from various ongoing BCS batches organized the peaceful sit-in.

They demanded that the viva exams of the 44th BCS be completed within May and a clear roadmap be announced for all ongoing BCS exams.

After the demonstration, candidates from the 44th, 45th, and 46th BCS submitted a memorandum to the PSC Chairman, outlining several key demands: Roadmap for the 44th BCS: A complete viva schedule must be published for the remaining candidates. Viva should be concluded by May 2025, and final results must be published by June 2025.

Increase in Cadre and Non-Cadre Posts: The Non-Cadre Rules 2023 must be repealed. The number of posts in both cadre and non-cadre categories for the 44th BCS should be increased to ensure employment for all candidates who pass the viva.

Publication of the 45th Written Exam Results: After announcing the final result of the 44th BCS, the written results of the 45th BCS must be published promptly to allow viva to begin and be completed before December 2025. The 45th BCS written exam concluded on January 31, 2024.

Scheduling of the 46th Written Exam: The written exam for the 46th BCS should only be held after the publication of the 44th BCS final result and the 45th BCS written result.
47th Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam for the 47th BCS should be conducted at least two months after the 46th BCS written exam.
