Examinees have protested by blocking railway lines in Khulna demanding a change in the time of the 47th BCS examination. On Sunday, they blocked the railway line in Daulatpur, Khulna city. At that time, they also burned tires along with the procession.
This closed rail communication with Khulna across the country. 5 trains were stranded. As a result, there was a huge disruption in the train schedule. When the blockade was lifted around 8:45 pm, train services resumed at 9:05 pm.
The protesters said that although adequate time was given for preparation in the past BCS examinations, only two months have been set for the 47th BCS examination. As part of the movement going on across the country including Dhaka, students of various higher education institutions including Khulna University, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, especially the 47th BCS examinees, participated in this rail blockade program.
Khulna Railway Station Master Duldul Hossain said that due to the blockade by students in Daulatpur, 5 trains were stranded at Khulna Station, Daulatpur, Fultala and Nawapara.
The Rajshahi-bound Sagardari Express was scheduled to leave Khulna Station in the afternoon. On the other hand, the Khulna-bound Sundarban Express, Rupsha Express, Mahananda Express and Betna trains from various routes were stranded. When the railway line was normalized at around 8:45 pm, the Sagardari Express left for Rajshahi. In addition, 2 trains reached Khulna Station by 9:45 pm and more trains entered gradually.
