BCG recovers 24 kg of venison from Sundarbans

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) of the Western Zone deployed Mongla Port (in Bagerhat distric) recovered one skin and 24 kgs flesh of spotted deer and wooden boat from Joymonirgol Balur Math area after conducting a raid there under Chandpai Forest Range of the Eastern Division of Sundarbans on Friday night. The matter was diiscosed to the newsmen by Lt. Commander Mahbub Hossain, Media Officer of the Coastguards of the Western Zone (Mongla) on Saturday noon and told, acting on secret information a contingent of the coastguads conducted a raid at Joymonirgol Balur Math area on Friday night. But after sensing the appearance of the coastguards the poachers fled awy afte leaving a skin, 24 kgs flesh of deer and a wooden boat there. Then the coastguards recoverede the skin and flesh deer and the boat and seized them. Later, those were handed over to Nandobala Forest Office for taking legal action.
The Media Officer further told, the members of the coastguards are discharging their patrol duties for 24 hours in their jurisdiction to save the fishermen and other forest-earners from the hands of the jungle pirates, subdue them (pirates) and free the Sundarbans from the hands of the wrongdoers. As aresult, the law and order situation was developed in their jurisdiction.
