The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) received the one part of Bangladesh National Cricket squad with bouquet on Wednesday night at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capial. Later, the another part of Bangladesh National Cricket squad reached the HSIA late night of Wednesday. The members of the BCB also received them with floral wreath.
The Tigers won the two-Test series against Pakistan National Cricket team recently at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. It was the maiden Test series victory Bangladesh against Pakistan. Thus, the Tigers created historic win in their Test series campaign.
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first Test on August 25. The Tigers beat Pakistan by six wickets in the second Test on September 3.
After Bangladesh Cricket team’s success, Chief Adviser to the Interim Government of Bangladesh Dr. Muhammad Yunus greeted Captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team Najmul Hossain Shanto and his teammates over mobile phone. Yunus also acknowledged that the government will accord reception to the Bangladeshi heroes for their outstanding success.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Litton Das, Shoriful Islam, Shadman Islam, Nahid Rana, Khaled Ahmed, Taijul Islam and Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha arrived in the capital as the one part of Bangladesh National Cricket squad.
Directors of the BCB Akram Khan, Nazmul Abadin Fahim, Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu received the Tigers with bouquet.
Shakib Al Hasan did not come in Bangladesh. He left Pakistan for England. Shakib will play in the County Cricket there.
