The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a message to the media from Dubai yesterday reiterated that it would fight to retain the country’s Test Cricket Status in the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting which started yesterday in Dubai.
The message said, “BCB reiterated its position regarding issues pertaining to full member rights of status and participation during a discussion on a draft position paper put forward by a working group of the Finance & Commercial Affairs committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
“The paper seeks considerable structural changes to the ICC and its governance, future tours programme and Test cricket.
Speaking from Dubai, UAE, BCB Acting CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdury said, “We have communicated to the ICC Board that the BCB will not endorse any proposal that compromises Bangladesh’s full member rights in terms of status and participation.
“Bangladesh was the only full member nation to take a stand on this issue,” the message said.
