BCB announces squad for Zimbabwe 1st Test

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Tuesday the 15-member Bangladesh Cricket squad for the upcoming first Test match against Zimbabwe Cricket team.

Prolific pacer Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out due to injury. Promising pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been called in the squad for the first time. Pacer Nahid Rana, Khaled Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud have been included in the squad. Ace batter Mushfiqur Rahim has returned to the squad.

Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das will not take part in the two-Test series against Zimbabwe as he will busy at that time to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Litton Das got No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BCB. Wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali Anik and wicketkeeper-batter Mahidul Islam Ankon have been included in the squad. Najmul Hossain Shanto has retained his captaincy.

The Zimbabwe squad are scheduled to arrive in the capital on April 15.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will start at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from April 20.

The second Test match between the Tigers and Zimbabwe will begin at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram from April 28.
Zimbabwe will depart Bangladesh for home on May 3.
