BAU bursts into colour, creativity

BAU Correspondent :

In a vibrant celebration of creativity and campus culture, the Bangladesh Agricultural University’s (BAU) creative organization Aesthetic Bau organized the second edition of its unique cultural event, ‘Moments of Enchantment: Photo, Art and Craft Exhibition Season-2’. The program was held on Friday evening (May 23) under the iconic Amatola tree on the university premises.
The event drew a festive crowd, as students and faculty members-dressed in traditional sarees and panjabis-gathered from various halls to take part in the celebration. The atmosphere became electric with music, poetry, lights, and laughter. Stalls offered traditional pitha, handmade artwork, and crafts, while friends strolled the grounds, enjoying the cultural ambience of the late afternoon.
The event featured a wide range of attractions, including a live photo contest, a traditional bioscope, a cultural performance segment, and the distribution of 1,000 cups of tea.
Students showcased the beauty and essence of campus life through brush strokes, handcrafted items, and mobile photography. A total of six outstanding entries-three each from the photography and art-craft categories-were awarded. Every participating student received a certificate of appreciation. The Bangladesh Agricultural University Press Club served as the media partner for the event.
Md. Rifat Ali, General Secretary of Aesthetic Bau, remarked, “Last year, we successfully hosted ‘Onubhob-er Ayana’ (Mirror of Emotions). Building on that momentum, we organized ‘Moments of Enchantment’ to encourage student creativity, appreciation for the arts, and cultural engagement. Our goal is also to highlight the scenic beauty of our campus through photography and videography.”
Sakib, a student from the Faculty of Agriculture, shared, “Such events are a rarity on our campus. Amid our hectic academic schedules, this program offered a much-needed breath of fresh air.”
Participant Jahin Izma added, “This event proves that alongside academics, we are equally capable in arts and crafts. It truly deserves praise.”
Professor Dr. Hasneen Jahan, President of Aesthetic Bau and a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Economics, commented, “Aesthetic Bau is a unique organization at BAU that presents our university to the wider public through photography and videography. It also nurtures the hidden talents of our students. Seeing the lively campus atmosphere today and the array of artwork and photography created by our students is truly heartening.”
With enthusiasm, artistry, and a deep sense of belonging, Moments of Enchantment has once again showcased the creative pulse of BAU’s student community.
