The Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) recently hosted the International Conference on Agricultural Machinery and Bioresource Engineering (ICAMBE-2025), which featured an impressive display of cutting-edge agricultural machinery. The event was organised by the Bangladesh Society of Agricultural Machinery and Bioresource Engineering (BSAMBE) in collaboration with BAU’s Department of Farm Power and Machinery, and was held at the university’s helipad.
The fair showcased a wide range of modern equipment, including drones valued Tk 2.5 lakh, tractors, coconut husking machines, power weeders, coffee pulpers, compost separators, vegetable washing machines, fruit cleaning machines, New Holland tractors, mini combined harvesters, and seeders. Several companies, including the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, ACI Motors Limited, Banglamark Agro Machineries, SQ Agriculture Limited, and Krishibid Farm Machinery and Automobiles Limited, set up stalls at the fair.
A representative from the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute explained that their display featured machinery such as coconut husking machines, power weeders, coffee pulpers, and vegetable washing machines, among others. These machines were brought solely for exhibition purposes, with models available through various companies for purchase by interested consumers.
According to a sales representative from ACI Motors Limited, the company exhibited drones worth Tk 2.5 lakh, power tillers, and other advanced equipment.
Buyers were informed about the option to purchase the machinery either in cash or through installment plans at their showroom.
Jahangir Alam, a farmer from Sutiakhali, Mymensingh, expressed his admiration for the technology on display. “I’ve never seen such a variety of modern farming equipment in one place before,” he said.
“Our work is still difficult at the field level, but seeing these machines here, I realize they could help reduce our costs and save time. If the government provides subsidies, many farmers like me could afford to buy these machines.”
The two-day event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Professor Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of BAU.
