University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr A K Azad Chowdhury on inaugurated the ‘Basic Campus Network’ at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday to promote internet networking system of the university.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique presided over the function while UGC member Prof Dr M Akhtar Hossain, DU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Sub-Project Manager of ‘Basic Campus Network’ project and Professor of IIT Dr M Mahbubul Alam Joarder were present.
Prof Azad urged the DU teachers, students and researchers to work hard for improving their place in global ranking among the universities of the world.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the faculty members and researchers to conduct ‘world standard research’ to face global challenges of the 21st century.
According to the ‘Basic Campus Network’, all residential Halls, Departments, Institutes and Offices of DU will enjoy the modern internet facilities.
