Bashundhara Kings lost valuable points as they were forced to play a 2-2 goal draw with PWD Sports Club in their opening match of Bangladesh Football League was held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on Saturday.

In the day’s match, Brazilian forward Dorielton and forward Faysal Ahmed Fahim who led the first half by 2-0 goals.

Uzbek forward Akobir Turaev and forward Arman Faysal netted one goal apiece for PWD.
Dorielton opened the net for Kings scoring the first goal in the 13th minute and Fausal doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 45+2nd minute of the match.

But after the breather, PWD staged a brilliant fight back in the match to deny Kings’ victory.
Akobir pulled one back for PWD in the 60th minute converting a spot kick while Arman levelled the margin scoring the second goal for PWD in the 72nd minute of the match.

Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Fortis Football Club while PWD will meet Arambagh Krira Sangha in their respective second round matches to be held on October 20.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club lost their first match of the new season in the Bangladesh Football League (BFL). The reigning champions of the league lost 2-0 to Fortis FC at the Kings Arena on Saturday.

In other match, Bangladesh Police Football Club beat Brothers Union Club by 1-0 goal in their opening match of the Bangladesh Football League held at Birshreshtha Shaheed Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Brazilian forward Paulo Santos scored the all-important goal for Police in the 42nd minute of the match.

Police will play their next match against Mohammedan Sporting Club while Brothers Union meet Abahani Limited Dhaka in their respective second round matches scheduled to be held on October 19.
