The production of the country’s first Bashundhara Gold Refinery will start next March, said Sayem Sobhan Anvir, President of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) and Managing Director
of Bashundhara Group, the country’s top industrial entrepreneur family.
He said, if everything goes well, the production of the country’s first Bashundhara gold refinery will start next March. The government is ready to provide all facilities for gold production in the country. All the jewelers of the country must be united to achieve great things in the jewelery industry.
He said this while addressing the chief guest at the Bajus Chattogram Divisional Representative Conference at hotel Radisson Blu Auditorium in the port city on Monday.
Sayem Sobhan is also the Managing Director of Anvir Bashundhara Gold Refinery Limited. Ahmed Walid Sobhan, Director of Bashundhara Group, among others, was also present on the occasion. Amin Helali, Vice President of FBCCI, the top organisation of businessmen who was the special guest of in the programme, said, “I have seen during the BAJUS election appeal board, that the members did not have a collective position. Now there will be gold processing industry in Bangladesh. It is good to hear that gold will be exported from Bangladesh. I think, this jewelery industry will be successful. In the next 5 to 10 years, the country’s manufactured garments will surpass the exports.”
Asif Ibrahim, Chairman of Chattogram Stock Exchange, said that Bashundhara Group’s ABG Limited has bought 25 per cent shares of Chattogram Stock Exchange. This event is a milestone for CSE. Bashundhara Group set an example by coming to the capital market. This capital market will be one of the examples of information technology excellence. People of the country will invest in the capital market. The prudence and foresight of the blessed daughter of the father of the nation has brought us to this path of progress. Asif Ibrahim, the former president of Dhaka Stock Exchange, said, “The country’s first commodity exchange transaction will start with gold. And this is why Bajus name will be written in gold letters. BAJUS must be united for this. We have planned to inaugurate this historic journey with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
Bajus former president Dr Dilip Kumar Roy said, the BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anveer will return the lost glory of the gold industry. Four or five gold jewelery factories are on the way to start up in Dhaka. To save this industry, everyone should come under the banner of Bajus. Bajus had many crises in Chattogram. “We have overcome the crisis. Happily, we have made new committees in 64 districts. There were 6 to 7 thousand members, now it has increased to 40 thousand. The gold industry will not be subjugated. I will export the gold written Made in Bangladesh.”
