Bashundhara Kings,Dhaka Abahani Limited won their respective matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football on Friday.
Bashundhara Kings overcame Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by four goals to nil at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
League leaders Bashundhara Kings led the points table claiming 40 points from 14 matches, while Dhaka Abahani Limited took the second position gaining 30 points from as many matches.
Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Miguel Damasena put his team ahead by a left-footer in the 42nd minute of the play.
After the lemon-break, Bashundhara’s other Brazilian recruit Dorielton doubled the margin by a right-footer in the 52nd minute of the match.
Dorielton scored his second goal using a through pass of his teammate Miguel Damasena in the 76th minute of the game.
Miguel Damasena sealed the fate of the match (4-0) by a left-footer in the 80th minute of the clash.
In the day’s other match, Dhaka Abahani Limited defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club by 4-1 goals at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
Abahani’s foreign recruit Raphael Augusto put his team ahead using a spot-kick in the 36th minute of the first half.
Zillur Rahman of Police Football Club levelled the margin in the 40th minute of the encounter.
Foysal Ahmed Fahim of Dhaka Abahani Limited broke the dead-lock in the 54th minute.
Sohel Rana of Dhaka Abahani Limited increased the tally into 3-1 in the 65th minute of the game.
Emeka Ogbugh of the popular sky-blue outfit sealed the fate of the match in the 76th minute.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmodi Club Limited came from behind and drew 2-2 goals with Chittagong Abahani Limited at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on the same day.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited took the third spot bagging 20 points from 14 matches.
After a barren first half, Mostafa Kahraba of Chittagong Abahani Limited put his team ahead in the 52nd minute of the game.
Suleiman Sillah of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited equalised the margin in the 51st minute of the play.
Ekbal Hussain of Chittagong Abahani Limited made it 2-1 in the 84th minute of the game.
Cornelius Stewart of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club levelled the margin in the injury time of the second half.
