Barrister Suman said: “The question has now arisen whether the state machinery wants to keep me alive or not. I filed a GD for the safety of my life. Now it is the responsibility of law enforcement. I do not fear death. But I am concerned about the people of my area.”
According to the GD, Suman said he received a phone call from the officer-in-charge of Chunarighat police station, which falls under his constituency, around 2am on Thursday.
The officer-in-charge claimed that a team of four to five people wanted to kill him. The officer-in-charge, without revealing the identity of the team members, asked him to be cautious, leaving him in a situation of insecurity, reads the GD.
