On Friday (July 26) around 9:30 pm, the launch ‘MV Adventure-9′ left the Barishal river port directly for Dhaka with a large number of passengers.
Muhammad Masud, supervisor MV Adventure-9 launch said that the passenger pressure is a bit high as there is only one launch. However, on Friday he said that they reached Dhaka safely on time on Saturday.
Barisal River Port and launch owners’ sources said, due to curfew and lack of pasengers, the passenger carrying water transport service from Barishal-Dhaka route was stopped from July 20.
Jhalokathi left for Dhaka via Chandpur with passengers from Barishal river port on Friday night, the BIWTA official added.
Abdur Rahim on of the passengers said, they are happy for resuming passenger carrying water transport operation. Because the launch service is more comfortable and cheap to go to Dhaka safely than by road by saving working hours.
