Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI)’s “Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner – BARI Part)” project office was opened on Monday at the institute’s head office.
BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker along with the Directors of the BARI cut the ribbon and inaugurated the office opening. At this time, Former Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam; Director (Support and Services) Dr. Ferdouse Islam, Director (Research) Dr. Md. Abdullah Yousuf Akhond, Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Md. Abu Hena Sorwar Jahan, Director (Director General’s Office) Dr. M M Kamrozzamanm; Partner Project Director Dr. Jagadish Chandra Barman and Senior Scientists from various divisions of BARI were also present on the occasion.
FAO delegation visits BARI
A delegation from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) visits Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) on Monday.
BARI scientists and officers welcomed the FAO delegation member at the time of their arrival at the institute.
BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker gave a welcome address at DG’s conference room. Principal Scientific Officer (Director General’s office) Dr. Md. Shawquat Ali Khan gave short brief presentation of BARI.
At this time, Former Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Dilwar Ahmed Choudhury; Director (Support & Services) Dr. Ferdouse Islam, Director (Research) Dr. Md. Abdullah Yousuf Akhond, Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Md. Abu Hena Sorwar Jahan, Director (Director General’s Office) Dr. M M Kamrozzamanm and Director (Horticulture Research Centre) Dr. Munshi Rashid Ahmad were present on the occasion.
Chief Scientific Officer (Entomology Division) Dr. Nirmal Kumar Dutta, Chief Scientific Officer (Fruit Division) Dr. Md. Obaidullah Kaisar; Chief Scientific Officer (Pathology Division) Dr. Ashis Kumer Saha; Partner Project Director Dr. Jagadish Chandra Barman; Principal Scientific Officer (Floriculture Division) Dr. Farjana Nasrin Khan and Senior Scientists from various divisions of BARI were present there also.
Later, the delegation visits various laboratories and research field in BARI and expressed their satisfaction by seeing the activities of advancement and achievements of Institute.
