Some important roads in Baraigram under Natore district are in very bad shape for want of repair and proper maintenance. There are 35- km long Ahmed to Razapur road, 9- km long Royna to Junail road, 18- km long Razapur to Junail Road and 6- km long Malipara to Merigasa Road.
The deplorable condition often causes fatal accidents, damages vehicles, creates problems for the people.
In this condition, vehicles are moving riskily through these roads. Vehicles can not move smoothly. The above mentioned roads are vital, those connect Baraigram thana headquarter Bonpara even district town Natore. Hat-bazaars, schools, colleges, madrasha even pouro town have been established beside these roads. These roads have been till lying in miserable condition and have been causing sufferings to the passerby, school-college going students, businessmen. Numerous holes, cracks and ditches have been developed at various places which make obstruction and hazardous condition of vehicles.
Drivers Association Secretary Md Mustafa said, due to the creation of holes and ditches on roads, vehicles do not move smoothly. It causes traffic jam especially at Bonpara bipass-bazaar, Ahmedpur Bazar etc. Traffic jam causes untold suffurings to people. Sometimes it rises mental tension of people. It losses their valuable time. They have to wait to reach their destination.
Businessman SM Lutfor Rahman said, roads are plan and smooth, for this reason, water of rainfall stands at different places on road in rainy season, As a result, roads are damaged in short time.
Baraigram Upazila Engineer Md Abdur Rahim said, we have taken necessary steps to repair and maintenance. Step by step, the roads will be repaired on priority. People alleges, concerning departments do not take proper step in this connection despite series of demands of people to repair the roads. People have urged the concerned authorities to solve these problems immediately.
