Bangladesh Women’s Cricket squad will leave the city for Sri Lanka today to take part in the imminent International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2. The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 will be held on One Day International (ODI) format.
The Bangladesh Women’s Cricket squad took part at a photo session in the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Monday. After that, Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team Nigar Sultana Joty spoke to the journalists. She said, ” We have been playing for six months. After the World Cup I shall take a leisure.
It is not wise to play without fitness. I shall not play the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) T20. Somebody will play in the WNCL T20 instead of me. After playing World Cup, I shall out of cricket for some time.”
Bangladesh women will play against South Africa women in the first warm-up match in Sri Lanka on September 25. The Tigresses will face Sri Lanka in the second warm-up match in Sri Lanka on September 27.
A total of eight teams will play on the round robin league basis. Top four teams will play in the semi-finals. The winning teams will play in the final on November 2.
Bangladesh will start their World Cup against Pakistan on October 2 in Sri Lanka.
The Tigresses will take on England on October 7 in India. Bangladesh will meet New Zealand on October 10 in India. Bangladesh will face off South Africa on October 13 in India. Bangladesh will play against Australia on October 16 in India. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on October 20 in India. The Tigresses will face India on October 26 in India.
