Bangladesh women take on Timor-Leste today

Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team will take on Timor-Leste Under-20 Women’s Football team in their second Group-H match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers at New Laos National Stadium in Laos today. The match will kick-off at 3:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).

Earlier, Bangladesh women made an auspicious start as they defeated hosts Laos women by three goals to one in their first match at the same venue on August 6.

On the other hand, Timor-Leste tasted a 0-9 goals defeat to stronger South Korea in their first Group-H match at the same venue on the same day.

According to the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh Women’s Football team have taken 104th position, while Timor-Leste Women’s Football team have taken 157th spot.

On the other hand, Laos Women’s Football team have taken 113th position.
But now-a-days Bangladesh Women’s Football team (including age group teams) are showing spectacular performance against all their opponents.

They proved their strength after they have qualified for the final round of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

Besides, Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team emerged the champions of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-20 Championship recently.

Afieda Khandaker, Sagorika, Shanti Marda are now in a very good shape.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Peter Butler said, ” My girls are advancing positively.

They should retain their success. We have achieved 104th position from 128th spot. It’s a remarkable achievement. My girls are extra-ordinary. They cut a brilliant figure.”

After defeating Laos, the girls were in a festive mood. They engaged their time in gym session and also in stretching and physical exercise. All the girls are physically totally fit. They are prepared to ease past Timor-Leste.
