Bangladesh women retain SAFF Women’s Champ title

Defending champions Bangladesh National Women’s Football team retained the title of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship title beating Nepal National Women’s Football team 2-1 in the final on Wednesday at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.

Earlier, Bangladesh women became the champions in the SAFF Women’s Championship defeating Nepal women 3-1 in 2022.

After a barren first half, Monika Chakma put her team ahead using a through pass of her teammate Sabina Khatun in the 52nd minute of the match.

Amisha Karki of Nepal equalized the margin capitalising a pass of her teammate Sabitra in the 56th minute of the game.

Ritu Porna Chakma broke the dead-lock by a spectacular shot in the 81st minute of the clash.
