Bangladesh women face Chinese Taipei today

Bangladesh women’s football team take on upper ranked Chinese Taipei in the first match of the two-match FIFA Women’s International Football Series (Tier-1) scheduled to be held today at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the city.
The match kicks off at 5:45 pm.

Addressing at a pre-match press conference held at Bangladesh Football Federation Bhaban on Thursday, Bangladesh skipper Sabina Khatun said:
“We always respect our opponent no matter what is their ranking.”

The goal-machine Sabina said it’ll be a good opportunity for them to assess their performance against strong Chinese Taipei before the SAFF meet and hoped for a good result.

“We want to keep our consistency which we showed in our last matches. In the two matches against Taipei we’ll understand our level after a prolong gap in the international football… We are out of international football for long time and the question is that how much the girls play organisedly after the gap,’ said Sabina when asked what they want to achieve from the two matches.

The Bangladesh captain said if her girls play their natural game, there will be something good for the team because as team would play the home ground and get the support from local crowds.

Chinese Taipei women’s football team head coach Chan Hiu Ming said as a visiting team his girls would face some challenge with weather, local crowds and pitch.

He said the team is well prepared for the match and hoped girls would perform their best in the match.

Replying to a question, the Taipei coach said they respect the hosts because Bangladesh football team is fast developing side in this region. The coach has also idea about Bangladesh team as he saw Bangladesh matches in the last Asian Games.

Chinese Taipei skipper Chan Ying Hui said they are prepared for the match against Bangladesh and hopes for a good game.

The second and ultimate match against Chinese Taipei will be held on June 3 at the same venue.
