Bangladesh women defeat West Indies in U-19 T20 WC

Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s Cricket team defeated West Indies (WI) Under-19 Women’s Cricket team by 10 wickets in their last match of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup (WC) at Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia on Tuesday. The match was curtailed seven overs due to rain.

Chasing West Indies women’s paltry total of 54 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 13 overs, Bangladesh women sailed home making 55 for the loss of none when they had 25 balls to spare.
Opener Juairiya Ferdous and Fahomida Choya guided their team to anchor the victory target putting together 49 runs for the unbroken opening stand.

Mrs Extra added 16 runs to Bangladesh total.

Opener Juairiya Ferdous remained unbeaten with 25 runs. Her 28-ball innings was studded with three fours.

Fahomida Choya remained unbeaten with 14 runs. She hit one four in her 25-ball knock.
Earlier, Nishita Akter Nishi played the vital role to restrict West Indies to a fragile total with a good support of Anisa Akter Soba and Jannatul Maoua.

Nishi captured three wickets at the cost of 11 runs. She was adjudged the Player of the Match for her outstanding bowling performance.

Anisa Akter bagged two wickets in the space of 13 runs, while Jannatul Maoua took one wicket for six runs.

Amrita Ramtahal, Naijanni Cumberbatch and Asabi Callender of West Indies were the only three batters, who could reach double digit figures scoring 16 (not out), 13 and 11 runs respectively.
