Police have recovered the dead bodies of a Bangladeshi woman and her partner from the latter’s house in Australia’s Sydney, local media reports.

Their three-year old daughter was also found sleeping in the house on The Horsley Drive at Sdyney’s Smithfield, but without any injury.

The Sydney Morning Herald on Monday reported that the detectives were treating the case as one of murder-suicide.

Quoting family sources, the newspaper reported that Tasmin Bahar, 35, had separated from her partner of six years Dave Pillay, 40, several weeks ago after a troubled relationship.

She then moved out of that Smithfield home, where her body was found with her partner, with their daughter. Since then, she has been living in her own apartment.

But Tasmin had agreed to take their daughter to meet Pillay on Sunday, because it was Father’s Day.

Their bodies were recovered from a bathroom of the house by a man believed to be a relative of Pillay a little after 12:30pm that day, said the report.

Sydney Morning Herald said Tasmin’s sister Sharagin Bahar, who lives in New York, was on her way to Australia via Bangladesh.

Sharagin told the newspaper that she wanted to take her niece into her custody. She said her sister was ‘perfectly fine’ when she talked to her two days ago.

She said Tasmin had told her that Pillay had physically threatened her and her daughter in the past.

Tasmin had also filed a report with police about the threats, Sharagin added. “We told her not to go [to the Smithfield house] … but she went for Father’s Day. She wanted Dave to see her daughter.” The sisters’ cousin, Sifat Sharmin Ruponty, told the Morning Herald that Tasmin had also told her about being physically threatened by Pillay, with a knife, when they were together. Ruponty said Tasmin had moved to Australia in 2009 and was highly educated.

The newspaper, however, did not give details regarding Tasmin’s family. Local police said they were not looking for anyone else over the deaths, but further investigation was taking place. — Source : bdnews24.com
