After posting an easy 34-run victory over the hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cricket team in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday, the motivated Bangladesh Cricket team will take on UAE in the second and last T20I today at the same venue. The match will start at 9:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Litton Das will lead Bangladesh team as the captain, while Muhammad Waseem will lead UAE team as the captain. Private satellite channel Nagorik TV will telecast the match live.
The Tigers led the two-match T20I series 1-0.
Opener Parvez Hossain Emon hit a terrific 100 in the first T20I. His 53-ball innings was belted with nine sixes and five fours. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding, match-winning innings. Emon made a record as he broke the record of opener Tamim Iqbal. Tamim Iqbal notched up 103 runs using 63 balls with 10 sixes and five fours against Oman in Dharamshala of India in 2016.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh Cricket team and United Arab Emirates faced each other in four T20I matches. Of them, Bangladesh won all the matches, while UAE failed to achieve any victory. After winning the first T20I match over UAE, Parvez Hossain Emon said, ” I remember the century of Tamim Iqbal Bhai. He hit against Oman. I always watched his performance. So, it was in my memory. I felt well after hitting the century. I felt well when I watched the batting display of Tamim Iqbal. I have tried my level best to follow Tamim Iqbal. It is a good feeling for me as my name will be written in Bangladesh’s cricket history with Tamim Iqbal.”
” I always tried to keep my batting in one side. I wanted to make the innings big. I tried to carry through the innings. Thanks to the Almighty that I did it successfully, he added.
