After the clean sweep in 3-mtach Test series, Bangladesh have also sealed the five-match One Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe with the third consecutive win. The Tigers crushed the visitors by 124 runs in the third ODI match in Dhaka on Wednesday to wrap up the series by 3-0. Batting first at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh put 297 runs on the scoreboard for 6 wickets in 50 overs. In replay, Zimbabwe were all out scoring only 173 runs in 39.5 overs. Anamul Haque and Tamim Iqbal built a solid 121-run opening partnership in 25.5 overs. Tamim was unfortunate to be run out scoring 40 runs in 63 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Anamul missed his fourth ODI century just for 5 runs. He was caught at deep midwicket by substitute fielder SW Masakadza when his score was 95. The right-hand batsman smashed 9 boundaries in 117 balls. Later, Shakib Al Hasan contributed more 40 runs while Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah both added 33 runs each. Zimbabwe right-arm fast-medium bowler Tinashe Panyangara took 2 wickets for 45 runs. Chasing a massive target of 298, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets from the beginning. Mashrafe Mortaza again struck early and picked up Vusi Sibanda and Hamilton Masakadza in conductive overs. Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura was the only batsman to score a half century. He was unbeaten on 53 off 46 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Bangladesh won the first two ODIs in Chittagong by 87 and 68 runs. The rest of the 3 matches will be played in Dhaka on November 28 and December 1 respectively.
