Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal- Bangladesh JaSad on Saturday submitted its opinions on reform proposals to the National Consensus Commission.
The party led by its general secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan submitted its opinions to the National Consensus Commission’s Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz at the Jatiya Sangsad Complex.
Commission members Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Haque, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Dr Badiul Alam Majumder and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haider, among others, were present at that time, reports BSS.
Besides, Bangladesh JaSad leaders Indu Nanda Datta, Dr Mushtaq Hossain and ATM Mahabbat Ali, among others, were also present at the event.
Speaking at the discussion, Professor Ali Riaz said although the initiative for reform has come from the interim government, the demand itself belongs to the people.
He said the commission aims to complete the first round of talks with political parties by mid-May, after which the second round will begin.
The National Consensus Commission, headed by Interim Government Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, was formed with the goal of forging national consensus on reforms. The commission officially began its activities on February 15.
