Bangladesh are in Pool-B with reigning champions South Korea (SK) in Asia Cup Hockey 2025. The other team’s of Pool-B are Malaysia and Chinese Taipei. Bangladesh have got tickets to play in Asia Cup Hockey as Pakistan withdrew their names from the mega hockey meet.
A total of eight teams dividing into two groups will take part in the Asia Cup Hockey.
Hosts India, Japan, China, Kazakhstan are in Pool-A. Oman also withdrew their names from the tournament. Thus, Kazakhstan have got opportunity to take part in the gala extravaganza.
Bangladesh will take on Malaysia in their first Pool-B match on August 29. Bangladesh will face Chinese Taipei in their second Pool-B match on August 30. Bangladesh will meet South Korea in their third Pool-B match on September 1.
The final will be held on September 7.
South Korea emerged the champions in the Asia Cup Hockey 2023 after defeating Malaysia by two goals to one in the final.
According to the latest hockey rankings, Bangladesh have achieved 29th position. Chinese Taipei have taken the 38th spot, while Malaysia have taken the 12th position and South Korea have taken the 13th spot.
The Asia Cup Hockey 2025 will be held at Rajgir City in Bihar Province of India. The champions of the Asia Cup Hockey will directly play in the World Cup Hockey, scheduled to be held in Netherlands and Belgium next year. Apart from the champions team, top five teams will get opportunity to play in the World Cup Hockey Qualifiers.
