During the practice session, Head Coach Phil Simmons spoke to the newsmen on Monday.
Phil Simmons said, ” Bangladesh Cricket team have a probability that they will perform well in the Champions Trophy. I hope my boys will play in Champions Trophy after taking a good preparation. They will give their best in the forthcoming tournament. My boys could not perform well against West Indies in the One Day International (ODI) series in Caribbean Island recently. But my boys showed an up to the mark performance against West Indies in T20I series there recently. That means we finished our West Indies campaign with a happy note. I think my boys have a good opportunity if they give their best in the ensuing tournament.”
Simmons also said, ” The conditions of Dubai is like Bangladesh. If my boys can make a good start, they will get a good result.”
Bangladesh Cricket squad have engaged in full-fledged practice sessions. As all the matches of ICC Champions Trophy are 50-over-a-side tournament and the games will be Day/Night affairs so players of Bangladesh Cricket squad have bowled in the day time and also have batted in the day time. They have practiced under floodlight in the night. They have bowled in the night and also have batted in the night.
He said, ” We could not take our best preparation as they played in the 20-over-a-side matches in the recently concluded BPL Cricket. But it was also a white-ball competition. So, they are skilled and if they set their mind to play ODI format, they will perform good in the upcoming tournament.”
