Bangladesh Football squad reached Shillong of India on Thursday to play their away match of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers against India. The game will be held on March 25. It is Bangladesh’s away match.
Bangladesh Football squad left for Kolkata from Dhaka at 9:00am. After taking a couple of hours rest there, they left Kolkata and reached Shillong at 4:00pm. Then, they went to their Team Hotel.
Hamza Choudhury who plays for Sheffield United Football Club in European Football League, will play for Bangladesh National Football team for the first time. Earlier, Hamza Choudhury played for Leicester City Football Club in the English Premier League. Hamza Choudhury spoke to the newsmen at a press conference at the Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Denmark-born Bangladeshi Jamal Bhuyan, Finland-born Bangladeshi Tariq Raihan Kazi will play for Bangladesh National Football team against India. Before taking part in the upcoming match, Bangladesh Football squad took part in an 11-day long conditioning camp under Head Coach Javier Cabrera at Taif City in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh Football squad also performed Umrah in Mecca there.
Meanwhile, veteran Sunil Chhetri has come back in India Football squad. Earlier, the ace footballer announced his retirement. But he returned to the field to play against Bangladesh. Sunil played a FIFA friendly international match for India against Maldives in Shillong on Wednesday last. The superstar scored for India against Maldives and India won the match 3-0.
