Earlier, Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka 9-1 in their first match of the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship at the same venue on July 11.

Sagorika Sinha Jahan Shikha and Trishna Rani of Bangladesh scored one goal each, while Mina Deuba and Anisha of Nepal netted one goal each.

The pre-lemon session saw 2-0 lead for the red-and-green outfit.
Bangladesh dominated over Nepal from the very beginning of the game.

Munki Akhter got the ball on his way from a through pass of her teammate Sagorika but Munki’s shot was cleared by a Nepalese defender from the goalline.

Sinha Jahan Shikha got the ball and made no mistake to find the net in the 13th minute of the play. It was Shikha’s second goal in this tournament.

Shikha’s shot bounced back after touching the Nepalese goalie and Sagorika made it 2-0 by an accurate shot in the 36th minute of the match.

In the 55th minute of the match Sagorika was roughly charged by Nepalese Simran. At one stage Simran attack Sagorika. Thus, the referee showed red cards to Sagorika and Simran for their unplayable attitude.

Mina was roughly charged by Joynob Bibi Rita at the Bangladesh D-box. Thus, referee awarded a penalty-kick in favour of Nepal. Anisha reduced the margin (1-2) by a spot-kick in the 75th minute of the game. Mina Deuba equalised the margin in the 86th minute of the clash.

Trishna Rani sealed the fate of the match (3-2) just at the dying moment. Earlier, Sri Lanka blanked Bhutan 5-0 in the day’s first match at the same venue.
