Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team beat Ireland Women’s Cricket team by 17 runs in their Group B match of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Cricket at the Sylhet Stadium on Thursday.
Batting first Bangladesh Women made 106 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then they dismissed Ireland Women for 89 off 19.3 overs.
SA Supta of Bangladesh Women notched up a superb 35 from 46 balls featuring three fours.
Rumana Ahmed hit a notable 16 off 14 balls with three fours while Ayesha Rahman scored 12 off 19 balls including two fours.
LK O’Reilly of Ireland grabbed three wickets instead of 15 runs while IM Joyce and LN McCarthy got two wickets each conceding 17 and 19 runs respectively.
Earlier, CN Joyce knocked a patient 19 from 32 balls and her teammates Scott-Hayword and L Delany scored 16 and 14 (not out) respectively.
Panna Ghosh harpooned three wickets at the cost of 25 runs while Salma Khatun bagged a pair of wickets in lieu of eight runs.
Fahima Khatun and Rumana Ahmed took one wicket each for 11 and 18 runs respectively.
