BAJAF’s gets new committee

Bangladesh Agricultural Journalists and Activists Federation (BAJAF), the Bangladesh Guild of The International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) formed its new committee, with Golam Iftekhar Mahmud from Daily Prothom Alo elected as president, Shahanuare Shaid Shahin from Daily Kaler Kantha elected as the Senior Vice-President. He was also appointed as Guild representative to IFAJ, and Yasir Wardad from the Financial Express elected as the General Secretary.

IFAJ is a politically neutral, not-for-profit professional association for agricultural journalists in over 60 countries, established in 1956. IFAJ operations in Bangladesh started in 2016. The committee was formed during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BAJAF recently held at the National Press Club, presided over by Pulack Ghatack, correspondent of Washington-based BenarNews, also the founder president of the BAJAF. Other notable appointments include Md Manik Hossain (Manik Muntasir) from Bangladesh Protidin as vice presidents and Mohammad Al-Masum Molla from the Daily Star as organizing secretary, Sushanta Kumar Sinha from 71 Television as joint secretary, ANM Mohibub Uz Zaman from Daily Sun as Assistant secretary and Abu Khalid from DBC news appointed as treasurer.
