Entertainment Desk :

It was reported last June that Azam Khan’s band ‘Uccharon’was resuming its activities. Azam Khan’s daughter Aroni Khan had said that the band was returning with renewed enthusiasm.

Now it has been learned that ‘Uccharon’ is ready for concerts in the country and abroad.

A tripartite agreement was signed between Azam Khan’s family, band members, and an agency recently to manage the activities of the band, said a press release.

According to the agreement, all copyrights and ownership of Azam Khan’s name, image and creations will remain with his family.

The ‘Uccharon’ band will be active in performing and promoting his songs; and Cool Exposure will handle all promotions, royalty management, concerts and commercial activities.

On behalf of Azam Khan’s family, his daughter Aroni Khan, head of the band Dulal Joha, and CEO of Cool Exposure Ershadul Haque Tinku signed the agreement.

Dulal Joha, head of the band, said, “This agreement is a historic step to showcase Azam Khan’s musical heritage in a new way to the whole world. We want to spread his songs on the international stage as well as the country.”

Azam Khan formed the band ‘Uccharon’ with his three friends Neelu, Sadek and Mansur after returning from the Liberation War.

The band, which started its journey in 1972, sang ‘Eto Sundor Duniyay Kichhui Robe Na Re’ and ‘Char Kalema Sakshi Debe’ on BTV that year. These two songs made Azam Khan and the ‘Uccharon’ band popular.

After that, Azam Khan gave many more songs along with this band.
The band’s activities stopped after Azam Khan’s death on June 5, 2011.

On June 22, ‘Uccharon’ performed on stage after 14 years at an event titled ‘Guru Reloaded’ to mark Azam Khan’s death anniversary.
