Awami League’s influential people are enjoying the 43 bigha reservoir of old Jame Masjid of Gadairupsi village of Astomanisha union in Bhanguraupazila of Pabna.
It is reported that there is a 14.52 acre water reservoir named after the mosque. There is a lot of natural fish production. About 14/15 lakhs income from here every year. And by capitalizing this income, the influential people of the village have been enjoying the fish of those reservoirs for ages in the name of the mosque committee.
It is known from the ground that the current president SaidurRahman and secretary Abdul Aziz Babu are leading the mosque committee and Haji Nurul Islam and Jalal Uddin are leading the villagers.
Haji Nurul Islam and Jalal Uddin said that in 2007, all the properties of this mosque were included in the Waqf Estate. Still, the committee is illegally holding power and embezzling money from the mosque.
They demanded that the mosque be managed by a committee formed with a Motwalli appointed by the Waqf Estate Administration.
