Australian Professor calls on DU VC

Prof. Dr. Olav Muurlink of the Central Queensland University, Australia called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan on Wednesday at the latter’s office of the university.

Associate Professor of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies of DU Dr. Dilara Zahid was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed various issues including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on disaster management and child education in coastal areas in Bangladesh between Dhaka University and Central Queensland University, Australia, says a DU press release.

Arranging of training programs and workshop for DU young teachers and students in cooperation with the Central Queensland University were also discussed in the meeting.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan stressed the need for reducing gape between policy and practical academic literature to reach the outcome of the researches at the doorstep of general people.
