12 years ago, the 2012’s ‘Channel i Shera Kontho’ famed
singer Aunna Akter got the opportunity to perform on the same stage with the National Film Award winner popular singer Monir Khan in Qatar.
After that, Aunna performed in stage shows at home and abroad with famous artistes of the country at various times, but she did not get the opportunity to perform with Monir Khan again.
After 12 long years, she got the opportunity to sing together with Monir Khan on the same stage.
Monir Khan performed music during the cultural function at an event organised at the Convention Hall in Kashimpur, Gazipur recently.
At the beginning, Monir Khan performed the song solo. At one point, Aunna came on stage at Monir Khan’s invitation.
Along with Monir Khan, Aunna performed a few other songs including ‘Jodi Bou Sajogo’, ‘Chupi Chupi Bolo Keu Jene Jabe’.
Apart from performing a duet with Monir Khan, Aunna also performed several other popular songs, including ‘Tumi Mor Jiboner Bhabna’, ‘Onek Sadhonar Pore Ami’, ‘Ore Sampanwala’, on her own.
On the other hand, Monir Khan said that he performed the popular songs from ‘Premer Taj Mahal’ from his film, as well as modern songs from his various albums, in addition to other films.
In the cities, villages and towns of Bangladesh, there are
still many fans of Monir Khan who express a strong
desire to hear his songs on stage.
Monir Khan told this correspondent, “My deepest gratitude to all the listeners and viewers of Bangladesh. Because of them, I’m the Monir Khan of today.
With all the songs that have been released since my first album, I have been filled with the love of the audience in this country and the love of the expatriates many times.
I’m truly overwhelmed by the love I received from everyone when I went to sing at the stage show.
I can proudly say that I have received the selfless love of people because I became an artiste in this life. I found this example of that love at the last stage show in Gazipur.
I give thanks to Aunna for being my co-performer in this show. Aunna’s voice is very sweet. If she practices regularly, she will do better in the future.”
Aunna shared her feelings by this way, “My very favourite artiste is respected Monir Bhai.
The year after participating in ‘Channel i’s Shera Kontho’, I got the opportunity to sing together on stage with Monir Bhai.
I don’t have the qualifications or the audacity to judge how good an artiste he is, just as he is a very humble person with a good heart.
I was very lucky to be able to sing with him. He even promised to do a duet with me. If so, I would be grateful to him.”
