NN Online:
The Dhaka University (DU) administration has temporarily expelled 128 students who were involved in attacks on protesters between July 15 and August 5. The decision was made based on the findings of the fact-finding committee report on the incidents during the July mass uprising.
The expelled students are reportedly linked to the banned student organisation Chhatra League. However, their names and identities could not be immediately confirmed. The decision was made during a Syndicate meeting at the university on Monday.
Confirming the matter, Dhaka University Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed said, “A probe committee has been formed, led by Syndicate member Prof Dr Tajmeri S Islam.”
He added that a final decision regarding the involved individuals will be made based on the committee’s findings.
