A violent incident at the River View Food Corner in Kushtia district left three employees injured on Wednesday, following an altercation with a group of alleged miscreants.
The victims, identified as Tushar, 23, the restaurant manager, Shimul, 25, a cook, and Shubho, 22, an assistant cook, faced an unexpected assault that escalated rapidly.
According to Sheikh Sohel Rana, the officer-in-charge of Kushtia Model Police Station, the attackers forced their way into the establishment, located in Tanapara near the Sheikh Russel Kushtia-Haripur bridge.
The confrontation began when Tushar attempted to prevent the group from entering the kitchen, leading to a heated exchange. The situation quickly deteriorated as Tushar was beaten and stabbed by the assailants. Shimul and Shubho sustained stab wounds as well when they intervened in an attempt to protect their colleague.
Emergency services transported the injured employees to Kushtia General Hospital for treatment shortly after the attack.
Authorities, including police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) teams, have responded to the scene. Efforts to apprehend the attackers are underway, with legal proceedings being initiated to address the violent episode.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear as investigations continue. Local law enforcement has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice for the victims and restore peace in the community.
