The residence of Bangabir Kader Siddique, President of the Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL), in Tangail came under attack and was vandalised in the early hours of Sunday, September 7. The incident occurred at Akurtakur Para around 12:30am.
Witnesses reported that a group of 10–15 individuals wearing helmets gathered in front of the house; several gained entry using a ladder after the main gate was closed. The assailants vandalised two ground-floor cars and several windows.
Liton, the driver of one of the vehicles, told Jago News that the attackers attempted to ignite the cars with petrol, but fled when occupants became aware of their presence.
Sadar police station’s officer-in-charge, Tanvir Ahmed, stated that police arrived at the scene promptly, but the attackers had already fled. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrators. Siddiqui is expected to address reporters at his home at 12:00 noon regarding the incident.
