Staff Reporter:Awami League mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam announced his election manifesto on Sunday promising to build a ‘modern and healthy’ Dhaka if he voted to win again.
`I will give priority to work for developing the citizens’ lifestyle, with building modern and dynamic city’ he said while announcing his election manifesto at a press conference in a city hotel.
Atiqul highlighted three-dimensional plan while unveiling the menifesto.
‘I will utilise my experiences of the last nine months as DNCC mayor to make my city (DNCC) modern, dynamic, healthy if I elected again,’ Atiqul said.
He promised to ensure safety of the citizens, and ample grounds and parks for sports to help to grow healthy.
Atiqul also promised that he would take effective steps to curb corruption in different sectors.
He was elected mayor of DNCC in February 28, 2019 by-polls as Awami League nominated candidate.
The post fell vacant after the then mayor Annisul Huq passed away.
